Introducing Sophia

Mavericks of Movement started in 2025 as a reimagining of what a movement practice can be. What began in 2024 as Pilates class for equestrians—held in a tack room at an equine training facility—quickly evolved into a project that defies the walls of traditional studios. Mavericks of Movement exists where grit meets grace, where science meets intuition, and where movement is never just exercise—it’s transformation.

I am comprehensively certified Classical Pilates instructor and a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Raised in Marin County, California, I left high school early to pursue a professional dance career, training with Ballet Austin, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and DART Dance Berlin. I earned my Pilates certification at The Studio Marin Pilates in San Rafael, CA, and have since taught at Equinox Union Street and under Galina Rohelder at Pilates Berlin. In 2025, I began my undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, in an effort to deepen my understanding of human movement and performance.

A lifelong student of the body and movement, my background spans classical ballet, fencing, surfing, horseback riding, hiking, yoga, Gyrotonic, and weightlifting. My mission? To help you get back to feeling great—in your body, in your breath, and in your everyday life. My sessions combine intuitive movement, physiological education, take-home tools, and full-body recalibration to reignite your potential from the inside out.
